The delegation of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy has concluded its Emirates Energy Awards (EAA) roadshow covering Bahrain, Kuwait, KSA, Morocco, Egypt and Turkey. The delegation met with government officials, academics and concerned parties in the energy sector, and provided them an overview of the Award and its objectives, as well as the standards and target groups. The delegation received a warm reception across all countries included in the roadshow.
“Through the workshop and press conferences for EAA in the Middle East and North Africa, the Supreme Council aims to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the energy sector in the region, and thus underline the need among individuals and institutions to foster a spirit of competition to find alternative sources of energy to serve all segments of society, for generations to come,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council.
“The press conferences and workshops conducted by the Supreme Council received a large turnout from media, energy experts, and corporate representatives, as well as university students specialising in energy and the environment,” said HE Ahmed Butti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council.
“We have conducted several conferences as part of the road show on energy and water sustainability, and met a number of officials to discuss avenues for cooperation, particularly in the field of renewable energy, environmental conservation and sustainability,” added Al Muhairbi.
The Executive Committee of EAA has decided to extend the deadline for submissions for EEA to accommodate as many applications as possible. The delegation was led by Al Muhairbi and included Taher Diab, Secretary General of the EAA, and Ali Al Suwaidi, Deputy Manager of Corporate Communications at the Supreme Council.
