Dubai, UAE, 1 April 2013
As part of a series of outreach programmes to promote the Emirates Energy Award (EEA) in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, the Dubai Supreme Council (DSCE) organised its second regional roadshow in Manama, Bahrain.
The event was held in the presence of HE Mohammed Sultan Al Suwaidi, UAE’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Dr. Eisa Al Bastaki, President of EAA’s Technical Committee, Nasser Al Shaiba, Director of Environment and Safety at DSCE, Ali Al Suwaidi, Deputy Manager of Corporate Communications at DSCE, and a number of representatives of local radio stations, television channels, and newspapers, as well as Bahrain TV.
“The Kingdom of Bahrain is an important destination to promote the award, as there are a number of energy experts and specialists, as well as several initiatives and projects in the field of renewable energy. By hosting the roadshow, we want to highlight the role of individuals and corporations in further promoting environmental sustainability,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of DSCE.
“The members of the media who attended the roads have shown great interest about the awards. We received several enquiries about the award, the various categories, terms of and conditions for applying. Due to this strong interest, we have extended the submission deadline to June 30, 2013, to receive as many applications as possible,” added HE Ahmed Butti Al Muhairabi, Secretary General of DSCE.
The roadshow will now proceed to KSA, Egypt, and Turkey.
