As part of its series of outreach programmes to promote the Emirates Energy Award (EEA) in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy has organised a roadshow in Kuwait.
The Supreme Council held a press conference and was attended by representatives from the media, universities, and scientific research institutions.
“We are delighted to hold a press conference in Kuwait to present an overview on the EEA, including details about the award, its goals as well as basic principles, categories of the award, and rules for participating. We urge government departments and private organisations in Kuwait to participate in the awards as it is the only one of its kind in the region,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council.
“Through the EEA, we aim to raise awareness among individuals and organisations on the importance of preserving natural resources and protecting the environment. The EEA highlights best eco-friendly practices and promotes sustainable development in the region,” added Al Tayer.
“The EEA is playing a significant role in promoting the culture of rational use of resources by encouraging positive competitiveness at the individual and organisational levels. The award highlights the growing environmental awareness in the community,” said HE Ahmed Butti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council.
The delegation at the press conference included Dr. Eissa Bastaki, President of EEA Technical Committee, Nasser Al Shaiba, Director of Environment and Safety at the Supreme Council, and Ali Al Suwaidi, Deputy Manager of Corporate Communications for the Supreme Council.
