The delegation from the Supreme Council of Energy was composed of Faisal Ali Rashid, Director of Demand Side Management, Taher Diab, Secretary General of the EEA and Ali Al Suwaidi, Manager of Corporate Communications and members of the EEA Marketing and Events committee.
“We have launched the third Emirates Energy Award 2016-2017 under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, under the theme ‘Innovative Solutions for Clean Energy.’ Through this event, we aim to attract a large number of Arab experts in energy and renewable energy,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice-Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.
“The Emirates Energy Award serves as a global platform for exchanging ideas and experiences in innovation, and conservation, while protecting the environment and ensuring sustainability,” added Al Tayer.
Meanwhile, HE Ahmed Buti Al Muhairabi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Energy and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the EEA, commended the efforts and cooperation of the attendees and their efforts to cover the event.
“Through this award, we want to promote a culture of excellence, sustainability and innovation in energy management, enhance its efficiency and increase awareness about the culture of sustainability of alternative and clean energy resources. The award also aims to encourage the public and private sectors and widely promote and encourage their protecting the environment and preserving natural resources,” said Al Muhairabi.
“The goals of the award in energy management supports the vision of the UAE’s wise leadership to position the country as a centre of innovation for clean energy,” added Al Muhairabi.

Diab explained in detail the major subjects, principles and rules of participation for the award, emphasising that registration will be from 1 December, 2016 to the 1 March 2017.
Faisal Ali Rashid introduced the Demand Side Management Strategy, which includes raising community awareness about conservation, reducing the demand for energy and protecting natural resources.
The delegation of the Supreme Council of Energy participated in the CIGRE Jordan exhibition in Amman and was welcomed by HE Ibrahim Hassan Mustafa Saif, the Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources. Saif commended the role of the award and its continuing efforts to spread awareness about the importance of sustainability and innovation.
