Dubai, UAE, 31 January 2013: The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE) will continue to receive submissions for various categories of the Emirates Energy Awards (EEA) 2012-2013. The closing date for accepting the nominations has been extended to June 30, 2013.
The Emirates Energy Awards recognises best practices in the fields of energy efficiency, alternative energy, sustainability and protection of environment. The EEA is a regional award ceremony which takes place every two years with the aim of encouraging and promoting energy conservation.
One of the most significant initiatives under The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, EEA helps drive sustainable development as well as raise awareness in our society about the importance of using energy efficiently. The award aims to honour best practices in energy conservation.
“The Executive Committee of EEA has decided to extend the date for receiving nominations until June 30, 2013, to facilitate maximum possible entries. We have received enormous inquiries about the Award from the Middle East region and North Africa. The EEA aims to raise awareness about energy among industries, businesses and individuals to achieve sustainable development. The DSCE has hosted several meetings and workshops for individuals and organisations to highlight the Award and explain conditions and requirements for participating in it,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the DSCE and President of the EEA.
The entries are open to organisations and individuals from the Middle East and North Africa. Projects submitted for the awards should be executed in the MENA region.
The EEA includes the following categories: Gold and Silver awards for Energy Conservation in the private and public sectors; Gold and Silver awards for large-scale energy projects; Gold and Silver awards for small-energy projects; and Gold and Silver awards for education and research, in addition to a special award for excellence as well as an award for young innovators in energy.
