Emirates Energy Award 2012-2013 continues to receive nominations
Dubai, UAE, 6 March 2013: The Supreme Council of Energy for Dubai will continue to receive online submissions for the Emirates Energy Awards (EEA) 2012-2013 at www.emiratesenergyaward.com until 30 June in light of the overwhelming applications for this prestigious award.
The EEA’s website has convenient links that offer visitors the conditions, objectives, and categories of the award. It also provides important information on the process of short-listing nominees, through various stages of assessment.
The Emirates Energy Award underlines the role of the Supreme Council in further strengthening the business environment with a focus on energy efficiency. The Council continually launches different initiatives in line with the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030, to ensure a reliable and efficient supply of energy and efficient demand-side management of electricity, water and transport fuel.
The Emirates Energy Award recognises best practices in the fields of energy efficiency, alternative energy, sustainability and protection of the environment.
One of the most significant initiatives under the Supreme Council of Energy, the EEA helps drive sustainable development, raise social awareness about the importance of efficient energy use. The award honours global best practices of individuals and organisations in achieving energy-efficiency as well as providing a competitive environment and integrated framework to further promote sustainability and a culture of excellence in energy.
The entries are open to organisations and individuals from the Middle East and North Africa. Projects submitted for the awards should be completed within the MENA region.
The EEA includes six categories: Gold and Silver awards for Energy Conservation in the private and public sectors, Gold and Silver awards for large-scale energy projects; Gold and Silver awards for small-energy projects, and Gold and Silver awards for education and research, in addition to a special award for excellence as well as an award for young innovators in energy.
The EEA’s technical committee will evaluate entries and recommend a selection of winners. This will be approved by the executive committee. The Supreme Council will organise a special award ceremony in October 2013 to announce the winners.
